In total we help 103 children to a better education. The kids are from the age of 3 to 14 and are divided in 9 classes:

Structural curriculum

Over all classes and terms the school follows a structural curriculum in which the goals and study sessions are planned for each lesson.

With the Shine Junior Academy we pursue an objective of multifaceted lessons to create a competitive edge in the job market for the students in their long term future.

All staff members, but especially the teachers, are expected to be good moral and ethic good role models to the children. The teachers will provide guidance and will help create unity in the classes to achieve better results and improve social skills among the pupils.

To empower the children, the Shine Junior Academy creates varied lessons such as debates, creative workshops, sports & games, team activities and assemblies.

Every Friday, classes from STD 3 to 6 participate on a debate. The motion changes every week and the pupils get chance to prepare their points of view. By debating, the children learn to express their own opinion and practice to speak in front of a group of many people. This also helps the students gain self-confidence which is helpful in their future.

Every teacher is responsible for keeping all the necessary records of their classes. Lesson plans, scheme of work and end-term-exams help the children to progress their learning step by step.

All pupils are teached in English only. To give the children a chance of better job opportunities we introduced English as official lesson language.

All subjects (mathematics, science, English, social studies, religion) except Kiswahili are taught in English. With this method the pupils practise the English language in writing, reading and speaking which increases their chances for a better future and job.
