FUTURE PROJECTS
Our aim is to establish a Shine Center which includes education up to Class STD 8, a dormitory for the orphans, a permanent building, balanced diet food and a program to empower single mothers with job training and employment perspectives.
Our goal is to establish a basic level of education from Baby Classes until Classes STD 8. The children will benefit from this because they can stay in Shine Junior Academy all through Primary School and don't have to change the school after they completed Class STD 6.
The pupils are used to the school method and environment of the Shine Junior Academy. The management and the teachers can support the children along their primary education and prepare them properly for Secondary School.
Currently 14% of the pupils in Shine Junior Academy are orphans. These children struggle a lot with continuity, concentrating and learning achievements because there is no particular person who is responsible for these children.

With a dormitory the children would have people around them who care and support them with studying but also in their personal development. With a dormitory we can ensure that the children get enough food when they are not in school.
Because of financial shortage the school building isn’t a suitable environment for the children to learn. Our goal is to once have a permanent building with a proper floor, bricked classrooms, a waterproof roof and a suitable office to offer the children a fitting environment to achieve their dreams.
Our aim is to also serve the students vegetables and fruit to ensure a balanced diet. At the moment the financial situations only allows us to buy very cheap food options. For the future the Shine Junior Academy also wants to buy at a better food store.
Single mothers in Kenya struggle a lot with unemployment and are often not able to pay for school tuition. In the Shine Centre we would like to empower single mothers through job training and employment, for example with sewing school uniforms.
